Allagadda TD Leader Killed by Relatives Over Property Fight

Kurnool: A couple associated with the Telugu Desam was attacked in Allagadda town on Tuesday, resulting in the death of the wife and serious injuries to the husband. A long-pending property dispute led to the murder, police said.

The deceased was Atla Sridevi, 55. She and her husband Bhaskar Reddy, residing on Pathuru Veedhi near the old bus stand in Allagadda town, were attacked around 6:30pm by his brother Atla Gopal Reddy, his wife Atla Sirisha, and others with lethal weapons.

Sridevi died on the spot and Bhaskar Reddy, who was seriously injured, has been admitted to a hospital for treatment. The assailants fled the scene. The police said they launched a search for the accused.

Bhaskar Reddy and his wife were close associates of legislator Bhuma Akhila Priya. SP Reddy said the incident followed a property disputes that was ongoing for the last 15 years. Police pickets have been arranged in the town to ensure law and order, he said.

MLA Akhila Priya visited the Allagadda Government Hospital, where the deceased's body was kept, and talked to Bhaskar Reddy. She asked police officials to take stern action against the assailants.
