1,200 Physicians Attend Vizag Conference

Visakhapatnam: The South Zone and South Mid-Zone Association of Physicians' annual conference, which was attended by 1,200 physicians, concluded in Visakhapatnam on Sunday.

The conference focused on the use of multi-purpose medical test kits for streamlining the testing processes for various health conditions.

The event held over three days featured 67 expert speeches, addressing advancements in medicine.

One of the highlights of the conference was a live presentation by London-based physician Dr. Nick Smallwood.

Participating physicians were from Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala. Sessions covered topics such as detection methods for diseases like dengue and malaria, as well as protocols for providing emergency medical services.

Other key discussions revolved around adopting new technologies like telemedicine and digital laboratory reports.

President of Andhra Pradesh Physicians Association Dr. K. Rambabu expressed satisfaction with the turnout and the diverse range of topics discussed.

He confirmed that the insights gained during this conference would be communicated to both central and state governments to inform future healthcare policies.

He reiterated the commitment of physicians to respond effectively to public health challenges, including potential outbreaks of COVID-19 and other viruses.
