1,56,147 Pensioners Get Rs 106,78,02,500 Crore in Vizag

 Visakhapatnam: A total of 164,150 pensioners exists in the jurisdiction of Visakhapatnam GVMC, out of which 156,147 persons received a total of over Rs 106 crore (Rs 106,78,02,500) from the realised amount of Rs 112,21,86,500 as pension on Monday.

Ruling party MLAs, accompanied by officials, distributed the pensions in Vizag on Monday.

Extensive calculations were conducted by officials to identify the number of eligible pensioners under the ward secretariat.

Relevant secretaries withdrew the funds from banks on Saturday for pension distribution on Monday.

On July 1, ward secretaries visited the d pensioners' homes and facilitated the disbursement of pensions. A total sum of Rs 3,97,25,500 was distributed to 5,968 individuals in the Bheemili rural area. In Anandapuram, a sum of 57,28,9,500 was disbursed to 8,449 pensioners, while in Pendurthi, Rs 26,22,5,500 was given to 3,995 individuals. In Padmanabham, a sum of Rs 49,33,7,500 was distributed among 7502 beneficiaries. In Zone-1 (Bheemili urban), Rs 5,69,81,500 was disbursed to 8,310 individuals.

For Zone-2 (Madhurawada), the disbursement totalled Rs 10,12,39,500. Lastly, in Zone-3 (Asilmetta), Rs 10,35,28,500 was dispensed to 15,012 individuals. Similarly, Rs 18,84,95,000 was allocated to 26,180 individuals in Zone-4 (Suryabagh), Rs 20,95,65,000 to 30,518 individuals in Zone-5 (Gnanapuram), and Rs 11,00,24,000 to 16,018 individuals in Zone-6 (Gajuwaka).
