Vijayawada: State health authorities have set up 190 free medical camps in flood-hit areas in the city and provided health care to nearly one lakh people so far, said health minister Satya Kumar Yadav while addressing a training camp for multipurpose health assistants, supervisors and sub-unit officers here on Monday.

The minister stated that 150 teams have been surveying door-to-door in the flood-hit areas to gather data on health issues. He appreciated the health personnel for taking up anti-larval operations in Guntur, Krishna, Nellore, NTR, Kakinada and Palnadu districts also in flood-hit areas, where water has been clogging for more than a week.
Health special chief secretary M.T. Krishnan Babu said they had taken up anti-larval operations in 32 divisions in the city and mobilising 330 trained personnel from 88 ward secretariats as they were not affected by the floods to work for anti-larval operation from September 11 onwards.
