Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has accused the YS Jagan led previous government of misusing Rs. 4,000 crore under the Jal Jeevan Mission. He criticized the administration for laying water pipelines without first identifying the water sources.

Speaking at a state-level workshop organized by the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Department on the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission in Vijayawada, Pawan Kalyan said  the state government, after coming to power, had requested the Centre to sanction Rs. 70,000 crore for the mission. He mentioned that Union Minister CR Patil had been approached in this regard and advised to provide detailed proposals.
“We will finalize the Detailed Project Report (DPR) by the end of January and submit the proposal to the Jal Shakti Minister. Strengthening the Jal Jeevan Mission and addressing the water problems faced by many people is our top priority. Prime Minister Modi’s vision is to provide every person with 55 liters of clean water per day. The Jal Jeevan Mission was initiated with the goal of ensuring uninterrupted water supply for everyone,” Pawan Kalyan stated.
