60 diarrhoea cases in Anantapur GGH

ANANTAPUR: More than 60 diarrhoea cases are being treated at Government General Hospital in Anantapur.

District officials have increased the vigil following the death of a 26-year-old woman Renuka Bai of Ramagiri Eguva Tanda in Pamidi mandal of the district.
Cases of diarrhoea broke out in the tribal hamlet affecting 20 families in which two persons R. Baddamma,65, and Ramu Naik, 45, died due to vomiting and loose motions. Villagers initially took it as a minor health issue and took over-the-counter tablets hoping to control the disorder.
GGH superintendent Dr. Venkateswar Rao said special care is being taken of diarrhoea victims in the exclusive ward.
