Anantapur: Anantapur police are busy identifying trouble makers ahead of the counting of votes on June 4 to prevent untoward incidents in the district, Anantapur SP Gowthami Shali said on Wednesday.

“We have identified 136 active rowdy sheeters and hired assassins. In all, 381 persons have been bound over and eight expelled from the district,” the SP stated.
Special forces have been conducting flag marches in Tadipatri and other troublesome mandals of the district.
Meanwhile, TD leaders have made a representation to the Election Commission that former MLC Deepak Reddy, son-in-law of Tadipatri municipal chairman J.C. Prabhakar Reddy, has been made an accused in Tadipatri violence, though he had not been present in Tadipatri at the time of violence.
Deepak Reddy alleged that attempts are being made to prevent TD candidate J.C. Asmith Reddy and other family members from being present at the time of counting the votes.
He requested the Election Commission to take impartial action in the matter.
