Andhra Pradesh: Gold, Silver Ornaments Worth Rs 10 Lakh Looted From Temple
Visakhapatnam: Unidentified persons broke into the Madhava Swamy Temple in Madhavdhara and decamped with gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 10 lakh on Tuesday.
The temple priest, upon arriving at the temple in the morning, found the doors of the temple broken and ornaments looted. A complaint was filed at the Kancharpalem police station. The priest reported that the stolen items include gold and silver ornaments and other valuables, totaling an estimated Rs 10 lakh.
West Crime CI M. Srinivas Rao confirmed the theft, noting that approximately 5 tola of gold, 3 kilogram silver and additional valuables were taken away. The thiefs not only damaged four doors but also destroyed the CCTV footage in an attempt to cover their tracks. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
