Kurnool Collector P Ranjit Basha, Municipal commissioner Bhargav Teja distributed NTR BHAROSA pensions to the eligible in Budhwar Peta area.

Kurnool: While ministers and legislators from Kurnool and Nandyal districts participated in the pension distribution on Monday, server snags caused problems. In Kurnool city, industries minister T.G. Bharath distributed pensions in the 25th division. MLC B.T. Naidu, municipal commissioner Bhargav Teja, TD state general secretary Somisetty Venkateswarlu, Parliament segment in-charge Thikka Reddy and others were also present.

In Nandyal, minorities welfare minister NMD Farooq led the distribution event and in Banaganapalli, roads and buildings minister BC Janardhan Reddy distributed the pensions. Kurnool collector Ranjit Basha and Nandyal Collector Srinivasulu oversaw the pension distribution process. All legislators in the other constituencies distributed pensions.
Municipal commissioner Bhargav Teja said that 94.71 per cent distribution was completed in Kurnool city. There were 33,751 beneficiaries in the 133 sachivalayam limits of the city and till 6.30pm, 31,967 persons got a total of `21.97 crore in cash.
“Due to non-availability of beneficiaries at their homes and due to technical reasons, we could not distribute the entire amount today itself.”
In a curious case, Gummadi Pedda Subbarayudu, 75, died within an hour of receiving the old age pension in Pusuluru village of Nandyal mandal. In the morning, the sachivalayam staff handed over a pension of `7,000. He breathed his last due to old age, a while later. An elderly person in Nagendra Nagar, Kurnool city, died around 8am without receiving his pension, as the staff arrived late.
