Andhra Pradesh Police crack down in statewide sweep

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh police conducted a four-day cordon and search operation across the state, netting 23 arrests and seizing 2,602 vehicles lacking proper documentation.
The operation, which ran from May 24 to 27, was directed by DGP Harish Kumar Gupta and aimed at curbing illegal activity.
Officers conducted searches in 502 locations, targeting suspected individuals, habitual offenders, and illegal items like liquor, weapons, explosives, drugs, and unregistered vehicles.
The crackdown yielded a haul of 307 liters of illicit liquor, 45 liters of Non-Duty Paid Liquor (NDPL), a country-made firearm, and a staggering 93,600 litres of fermented jaggery wash, often used for illegal alcohol production.
