Guntur to Host Grand Urus Utsavam From Jan.17

Vijayawada: The 133rd Urus Utsavam of Hazrat Kale Mastan Shah Auliya Baba, which is worshipped by Hindus and Muslims together, will begin grandly from January 17. Jagadguruvu Hazrat Kale Mastan Shawali Dargah Trustee Ravi Rammohan Rao has requested all devotees to come to the grand Urus Utsavam to be held in Guntur from Friday, the 17th of this month, to Tuesday, the 21st of this month. He unveiled a poster and spoke at a press conference held at a hotel in Vijayawada today.

Rammohan Rao said that all arrangements have been made to conduct the 133rd Urus Utsavam in a grand manner. He explained that the festivities will begin on January 17 with the decoration of Chandni, and on the same day, Annadanam and the Sandal procession will continue with thousands of devotees. He said that on the 18th, at 6 pm, there will be a distribution of sandalwood, Deeparadhana, and then Annadanam. On the 19th, Sunday, at 10 pm, there will be Gyarmi Sharif (Quran recitation). He said that Prasadam and Annadanam would be distributed early in the morning. He explained that on Monday, January 20, devotees will distribute the chaddars that they have offered to Baba with devotion throughout the year to the fakirs.

Trustee Rammohan Rao said that on the last day of the festivities, on the 21st, the festivities will end in grandeur with the placing of the chair where Baba was blessed. He said that doctors will be available in the area throughout the festival, free first aid and free medicine distribution will be provided, and regular Anna Santarpana will be held. He further said that it is noteworthy that this Anna Santarpana program has been continuing daily since August 20, 2007.
