Vijayawada: APGENCO managing director K.V.N. Chakradhar Babu on Friday visited the Dr. NTTPS plant and reviewed the on-going restoration works at the Coal Handling Plant.

He instructed chief engineers at the plant to repair all damages at the earliest and bring the Coal Handling Plant back to shape. This will help feed coal to all units, so that they can start generating power without any further interruption.

The Genco MD instructed the civil wing to take up immediate restoration works on all hydrological structures of Budameru drain, intake structures and canals, which breached due to floods.

He visited Stage-IV (1 x 500 MW) unit, which is under a biannual overhaul. He checked the electro-static precipitators (ESPs) and entire boiler area up to 80 metres elevation. He instructed officials to complete all the overhaul works by the end of this month.

Chakradhar Babu also visited the Stage-V (1 x 800 MW) unit, where the rotor is being replaced. He discussed with BHEL and APGENCO officials plans to bring back the Stage-V unit into operation by the end of this month.
