Andhra Pradesh: Six Arrested in Chirala Teen Murder Case

Chirala II town police on Monday arrested six persons in connection with the killing of an 18-year-old youth at Adinarayana Puram on August 6.  Vijayawada: Chirala II town police on Monday arrested six persons in connection with the killing of an 18-year-old youth at Adinarayana Puram on August 6. Police said they had arrested the accused Sandeep Prasanna Kumar, 39, Garika Mahendra, 39, Sk Zilani, 27, Sk Mohammad Riyaz, 22, P. Lakshminarayana, 51, and Devarakaonda Srinivas, 46, and seized the knife used for murdering the victim from their possession.

Sharing the case details to media persons, the police said a total of eight accused killed the victim Syeed Amen Arif at 9.45 pm on August 6, stabbing him repeatedly with a knife after teasing him and entering into a quarrel with him while he was riding his bicycle along with his friend and complainant K. Satya Manoj. The accused fled from the spot in their car after killing the teen boy.

After the incident, Bapatla SP Tushar Dudi formed seven special police teams consisting of Chirala DSP Jagadeesh Nayak, six CIs, eight SIs and 70 police personnel under the supervision of ASP T.P. Vittaleswar to arrest the accused. Based on a tip, the Chirala II Town CI Somasekhar and his staff arrested six out of eight accused near the open plots on the Chirala-Odarevu Road towards Burlavaripalem Road at 6 pm on Monday.

The police added that the remaining two accused who are absconding will be nabbed at the earliest. On the occasion, the Bapatla SP appreciated the ASP T. P. Vittaleswar, Chirala DSP Jagadeesh Nayak, Chirala I, II town CIs and other police officers for arresting the accused in this case.
