Andhra Pradesh Woman Sells 15-Day-Old Baby for Rs 80,000

The woman sold the baby boy for Rs 80,000 to Rajasekhar of Rayadurg town and signed the adoption papers.

ANANTAPUR: A woman of Netrapalli village in Gummagatta mandal in Rayadrug segment in Anantapur district sold her 15-day-old boy to a person for Rs 80,000 as she was unable to look after the baby. Ballary Rupamma was residing at Rayadurg along with her six-year-old daughter. She was pregnant when her husband left her. The woman delivered a boy at Rayadurg and resided on the outskirts of Rayadurg town along with her daughter and the baby. The health department provided her necessary medical care due to her poor mental and physical condition at Anantapur general hospital.

Even the women and child welfare department monitored her movement and provided necessary care. Yet, the woman sold the baby boy for Rs 80,000 to Rajasekhar of Rayadurg town and signed the adoption papers.

The police along with the ICDS team found the baby with Rajasekhar and shifted him to a baby care centre after the mother’s behaviour was found suspicious and her mental condition was not congenial.
