Andhra Pradesh: Young Chemist’s Life Cut Short by Synergene Mishap

 Visakhapatnam: The 32-year-old senior chemist at Synergene Active Ingredients, K Suryanarayana, a was among the four workers critically injured in the pharma blast in the Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma City's B Block in Achyutapuram, Anakapalli district early on Friday. Tragically, Suryanarayana succumbed to his injuries on Monday, leaving behind a grieving family.

Suryanarayana's cousin, Bogi Naidu, told Deccan Chronicle that the hospital management had not informed the family about the death. “We got to know of his death when the management informed us about an ex-gratia payment of  Rs 1 crore from the company.”

Suryanarayana's wife and their newborn baby are currently undergoing treatment at Ragole Hospital in Srikakulam district. The baby, who is underweight, has been admitted to the NICU. The family also includes a 2-year-old son.

Naidu said Suryanarayana's wife had visited him in the hospital, and he spoke to her. “He asked her to go back home. Later that night, the hospital management called the family, informing them that Suryanarayana needed to be put on a ventilator and sought their signatures.

When the family arrived at the hospital in the morning, they found Suryanarayana's body shifted to the ground floor. Suryanarayana was hopeful of recovery. His sister, who travelled from Maharashtra to see him, said he had assured her that he was fine and only his upper body had been burned. He had stated as much to his wife too during her visit.
