AP: 21-year-old girl raped and killed in Chirala

VIJAYAWADA: A 21-year-old girl was gang-raped and killed when she ventured outside her home to relieve herself at Sitaramapet in Ipurupalem village under Chirala Rural police station limits Friday morning.

The victim belongs to Sitaramapet.
As per the FIR, the victim’s father went in search of his daughter as she did not return home. He found her dead in the bushes near the railway track.
Bapatla SP Vakul Jindal visited the spot and constituted five special police teams to investigate the case and arrest the accused.
The SP said the victim, ventured out of her house around 5.30am.
He said the police pressed in sniffer dogs and a clues team to collect evidence. They collected from the spot her chappals, clothes, and a water bottle which she brought with her. “We are suspecting that the girl was raped and killed.”
Chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu expressed his anguish over the death of the girl and directed home minister Vangalapudi Anitha to visit the victim’s family and extend all kinds of government support to it. The CM asked the police to conduct a comprehensive inquiry and nab the accused at the earliest.
