AP Bags ‘Green Energy Champion’ Award

Vijayawada:Andhra Pradesh bagged the Green Energy Champion award for 2023-24 at a meeting held under the aegis of Indian Wind Power Association at Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu.

AP Solar Power Corporation Limited managing director and chief executive officer M. Kamalakar Babu received the award from Union ministry of new and renewable energy joint secretary Lalith Bohra.

Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka were among others who competed for the award.

Speaking on the occasion, Kamalakar Babu gave credit to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for getting the prestigious award. He said AP could win the award as the CM accorded top priority to renewable energy during his earlier stint in 2014-19 which helped AP to become the champion of green energy.

Energy minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar and special chief secretary Vijayanand congratulated the Solar Power Corporation Limited MD and CEO for getting the award.
