Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation (AP Chambers) has urged the state government to introduce a settlement scheme for addressing the backlog of indirect tax disputes. In a representation to Minister Payyavula Keshav, AP Chambers emphasised the need for such a scheme, citing successful models from states like Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, and West Bengal.

AP Chambers noted that unresolved disputes under previous indirect tax laws block working capital for taxpayers and tie up significant revenue for the government. The organisation highlighted that settlement schemes in other states had successfully resolved disputes, relieved financial burdens on businesses, and facilitated revenue generation for development.
