Amaravati: A Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday paid rich tributes to industrialist Ratan Tata, who passed away in Mumbai last night.

As a mark of respect to Tata, the meeting concluded its discussions abruptly without making any decisions on the agenda items.

Naidu and the ministers expressed their condolences and paid their respects to a portrait of Tata. Later Naidu accompanied by Minister Lokesh reached Mumbai and paid their tributes to the departed soul.

At the cabinet meeting, the CM recalled the yeoman services rendered to the nation by the departed industrialist. Naidu said Ratan Tata has created a great brand for the company with value-based business. He not only created wealth but also ensured that its benefits reached all sections of the society.

The cabinet observed two minutes’ silence in memory of the legend. Later, the chief minister garlanded a portrait of Ratan Tata.

The CM and Lokesh, in Mumbai, laid a wreath at the body of Ratan Tata at the NCPA ground. Naidu spoke to Tata Sons chairman Chandrasekaran and members of the Tata family.

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan said Ratan Tata’s demise was a huge loss to India. “Ratan Tata was an ideal not only for India but also for the global industrial sector. He was also a great humanitarian. Deepest condolences to the family members of the Tata Group and his fans at this sad time,” he said.

Former chief minister and YSRC chief Y.S. He emphasized Tata's unwavering commitment to integrity, innovation and philanthropy, noting how his contributions touched countless lives. Tata's legacy would continue to inspire generations to come, he said.

Jagan MoHan Reddy conveyed his thoughts and prayers to the Tata family and all those who admired him, and expressed a wish that his soul would rest in eternal peace.

"Today, we have lost not just a business titan, but a true humanitarian whose legacy goes beyond industrial landscape to live in every heart he touched," Naidu said in a post on X late on Wednesday night.
