AP CS directs officials to distribute enhanced pension to beneficiaries at doorstep

Chief Secretary Neerabh Kumar Prasad has directed the district collectors to ensure distribution of enhanced social security pensions to the beneficiaries at their doorstep from 6am on July 1, through employees drawn from the village/ward secretariats.
The CS held a video conference with the district collectors from his chamber at the AP Secretariat here on Thursday and asked them to engage each employee to visit 50 houses for this purpose. He laid stress on involving only the government employees, additionally, for the work if need be.
He underscored the need to complete the distribution of pensions on the same day.
He said that in total, there were four categories of pensioners. Of these, there were 11 sub-categories. A total pension amount of `7,000 per head would be distributed at the rate of `4,000 per month for the April, May and June period. Enhanced pensions would be given to the other categories of pensioners too.
Special chief secretary for village/ward secretariats Ajay Jain, principal secretary for panchayat raj and rural development Sasibhushan Kumar, finance secretaries Saurabh Gaur and Satyanarayana and other officials were present for the video conference.
