Vijayawada: Sixteen IPS officers, who are waiting for postings in the new TD-led NDA state government, have been instructed to attend the DGP office regularly at 10 am and sign the attendance register.
The 16 IPS officers include two DG rank senior IPS officers – P.S.R. Anjaneyulu and P.V. Sunil Kumar - an Additional DG-rank IPS officer N. Sanjay and three IG-rank IPS officers - Kanthi Rana Tata, G. Pala Raju and Kolli Raghu Ram Reddy.
According to an order issued by the DGP office on August 12, which came to light on Wednesday, the 16 IPS officers have been instructed to report to the DGP office daily at 10 am and sign the attendance register available in the officers’ waiting room. They are also required to sign the attendance register before leaving the office at the end of the workday without fail.
The order further instructed the IPS officers to be readily available to attend to any work assigned to them. The TD-led alliance government has sidelined several IPS officers who allegedly acted in favour of the YSRC government and were accused of booking illegal cases against the TD and opposition leaders during the YSRC regime.
Notably, the then Chittoor superintendent of police Y. Rishanth Reddy, whom the TD leaders accuse of favouring the YSRC when the ousted government orchestrated an attack and instigated violence against Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu during his Angallu visit to Chittoor district, is also among the 16 IPS officers who are waiting for postings.
Other IPS officers not given postings by the new government include R.N. Ammi Reddy, Ch. Vijaya Rao, Vishal Gunni, K.K.N. Anburajan, Y. Ravi Shankar Reddy, K. Raghuveera Reddy, P. Parameswara Reddy, P. Joshua and Krishna Kanth Patel.
