ANANTAPUR: Endowments minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy on Tuesday declared that the Chandrababu Naidu government will focus on renovation of all historic temples across the state and restore their past glory.
Addressing media at his residence in Santhapeta in Nellore on Tuesday, he highlighted the significant heritage and cultural values of many temples in Andhra Pradesh.
"A large number of temples with centuries-old history are facing existential problems. These will be discussed with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and action initiated to renovate, develop and revitalise them,” Ramanarayana Reddy underlined.
He further revealed plans for a comprehensive overhaul of the endowments department. He pointed out that despite many temples owning extensive lands and assets, they have remained underdeveloped.
"We will identify such temples and take legal measures to protect their assets," the minister stated.
He acknowledged that lands and assets of several temples have been unlawfully occupied.
Ramanarayana Reddy reiterated that the primary goal of the alliance government is to develop temples, promote spiritual values, and protect Hindu Dharma.
He maintained that the CM is firm on protecting wakf board properties and extending honorarium to priests of all temples.
