The incident happened in Krishnavaram village of Kirlampudi mandal here in the district when two police constables stopped a vehicle on New Year's eve (Tuesday) for a routine check. The driver, who initially pretended to co-operate, swiftly accelerated his vehicle, injuring both the constables.
