Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh High Court has directed the AP government to maintain status quo on the buildings of the YSRC party in the state and directed it to submit the details and posted the matter for next hearing to Thursday.

YSRC district presidents filed 12 petitions in the HC with a plea to declare the notices served to demolish the party offices in several districts as illegal here on Wednesday by moved a lunch motion.

A single judge bench headed by Justice B. Krishna Mohan heard the matter.

One of the petitioners’ counsel P. Veera Reddy argued that the officials were acting unilaterally on the issue and maintained that the then TD government issued a GO in 2016 allotting lands for YSRC party offices. He argued that though applications were filed seeking permission for construction of party offices in the allotted lands, no permission was given. He submitted that they had taken up the construction of the party offices assuming that the permission was given but it was not given within a stipulated time.
