Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh High Court has opined that there is no wrongdoing in booking cases against individuals who post objectionable content on social media platforms.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur and Justice Cheemalapati Ravi heard a PIL filed by Pola Vijay Babu on Wednesday. The court noted that objectionable remarks are being made even against judges on social media and clarified that it could not prevent the police from filing cases against such individuals.
The court stated that those objecting to the police cases could file quash petitions but ruled out the option to file PILs on this issue.
