So far, the police conducted these operations in 276 places resulting in seizure of 1,313 vehicles due to non-availability of valid documents in addition to seizure of 25 litres of petrol and 4,000 litres of diesel. Ten people were arrested in 24 cases registered at separate police stations in the State and a notice under Section 41(A) CrPc was also issued to eight people.

Director-General of Police Harish Kumar Gupta said the main objective behind organizing cordon and search operations was to ensure a sense of confidence among people post-poll violence in several parts of the State.
