Visakhapatnam: Special officer of KGV school in G Madugula mandal of ASR district cut the hair of girl students in a bid to discipline them.

This controversial incident has sparked outrage in the State. The officer cut the hair of 18 female students at G. Madugula KGBV Junior College Hostel as punishment for missing the morning pledge ceremony.
According to reports, the incident occurred on November 15 when several second-year BIPC students arrived late for the morning pledge due to water unavailability at the Kasturba Gandhi Girls' Vidyalaya hostel on Kartika Purnami day. Special Officer Sai Prasanna, angered by the absence of 23 students, initially made them stand in the sun as punishment before proceeding to cut the hair of 18 students during the lunch break.
When confronted about the incident, which came to light after students complained to their parents, the special officer attempted to justify the actions by claiming the students were punished for "walking around with their hair down."
Parents and student unions have united in their condemnation of the incident, demanding immediate action against school officials. They argue that the administration has resorted to degrading punishment methods instead of addressing basic infrastructure issues like water scarcity at the facility.
