Vijayawada: To mark World AIDS Day, the Andhra Pradesh State AIDS Control Society (APSACS) organised an awareness rally in Vijayawada on Sunday, aiming to educate the public about AIDS and HIV. The rally began at the railway grounds and concluded at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram, where an awareness session was conducted.

Addressing the gathering, APSACS project director Dr A. Siri expressed concern over the rising number of young people contracting HIV in the state. She emphasised the critical need for awareness to combat the spread of the disease and stated that the organisation's programmes would be conducted under the slogan "Take the Right Path."

She also informed attendees about the availability of link ART centres within a 50-kilometer radius to ensure accessibility for patients across the state.
The rally and subsequent session underscored APSACS’s commitment to increasing awareness and encouraging timely treatment for HIV and AIDS patients.
