Vijayawada: YSRC city president and former MLA Malladi Vishnu strongly condemned the attack on flood victims by supporters of MLA Bonda Uma. He described the incident as shameful, particularly at a time when the city’s residents are already struggling with the devastation caused by heavy rains and flooding.

Malladi Vishnu criticised the coalition government for stifling freedom of speech and resorting to police brutality against flood-affected residents in Karakatta and Bhavanipuram.

He highlighted the recent incident in Ajit Singh Nagar, where a person seeking help was tied to a pole and beaten. At a time when donors and voluntary organisations are stepping up to assist flood victims, such acts of violence are deeply concerning.
