Budameru Canal Flood: NDRF, SDRF Deployed

Vijayawada: The NTR district administration deployed four NDRF and two SDRF teams along with fire personnel and law and order teams to evacuate people stranded in low-lying areas affected by floodwaters from the overflowing Budameru canal stream in Vijayawada city.


Mylavaram ACP Murali Mohan and his team rescued 48 people stuck in Vellaturu Bricks Industry area under G Konduru police station limits and shifted them to relief centres. The police personnel also rescued around 30 people living in Jakkampudi YSR Colony and Shabada village areas and moved them to relief centres there.

Similarly, the police teams rescued 60 people in New Bricks area in Paritala under Nandigama Rural and relocated them to relief centres.

A total of 57 SDRF personnel, including fire department, revenue, and municipal corporation personnel, were deployed in Rayanapadu, Nunna, Shanthi Nagar, and other areas to carry out rescue operations and respond to SOS calls to evacuate people stranded in other colonies submerged under floodwaters.
