Kakinada:Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has warned Labour Minister Vasamsetty Subhas, saying he was lagging behind in the Telugu Desam’s organisational activities.

A conversation to this effect between Chandrababu Naidu and Subhash has become viral in social media.

The Telugu Desam began its membership drive from October 26 and the enrolment of voters to MLC Graduate constituency from erstwhile East and West Godavari districts is on. The party has fielded Perabathula Rajasekhar as its candidate.

The party has asked all the MLAs, ministers, constituency incharges and other leaders to enrol more of the graduate voters. Chandrababu Naidu reviewed the efforts at a zoom conference with the MLAs, ministers and other leaders and gave a dressing down to those who were not involved much in the party activities.

Naidu asked Subhash about his performance. Subhash said he was enrolling the voters by deploying a Village Revenue Officer along with the party cadres Naidu was not satisfied with this reply. Subhash could enrol only 2,635 voters out of 9,000 in Ramachandrapuram constituency, the CM said, and expressed his dissatisfaction with the minister’s performance.

“You have come to the TDP from another party. You are the first-time MLA. The party has given more respect to you and given you a minister post. You should strengthen the party,” Naidu told Subhash.

“You have no commitment to strengthen the party. You are young. Unless you prove your commitment to the party, how can you survive in politics? If you fail to prove your efficiency, I have to look for alternatives. All of you must work hard for the party or I would take suitable action,” the party chief said.

This caused a stir in social media but the TD cadres are supporting Naidu’s stand in Ramachandrapuram constituency, it is learnt.
