Chebrolu police arrest accused in minor girl murder case

VIJAYAWADA: The accused in the murder of a minor girl at Kothareddypalem village in Chebrolu Mandal under Chebrolu police station limits on July 15 last has been arrested.

He was Naramamidi Nagaraju (44), a native of Kondapalli village in Ibrahimpatnam Mandal of NTR district.

Guntur SP Satish Kumar said a police team arrested the accused at a spinning mill in Rajahmundry. Nagaraju was involved in two cases, one of these being the murder of a woman under Ibrahimpatnam police station limits.

Eight special police teams had been formed under the supervision of Tenali DSP Janardhan Rao. These teams visited Telangana, Maharashtra and Karnataka as part of the investigations and finally arrested the accused in Rajahmundry based on a tip-off from a police informant.

The SP commended Tenali police officer T Janardhan Rao and personnel from Ponnuru and Chebrolu stations for their efforts leading to the arrest. Rewards and appreciation certificates were presented to them.
