Vijayawada:The state government is releasing the compensations to the flood victims on Wednesday. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu would deposit the amounts to the beneficiaries’ accounts from the collectorate here.

Breaches to the Budameru rivulet had flooded many localities here, resulting in massive loss to properties, while there was severe damage to crops across 16 districts. Vijayawada city and its suburban areas were hit by unprecedented rain and the resultant Budameru floods.

In a rare gesture, the chief minister had stayed at the Vijayawada collectorate and temporarily turned it into the CM's Secretariat for about 10 days while overseeing the rescue and relief measures on a war footing.

The government has completed the enumeration of losses in the flood-affected areas so as to provide compensation to the victims. The chief minister has already announced the compensation package for the victims.

The CM directed the officials to complete the insurance payment for the vehicles damaged in the floods before the end of this month itself.
