KURNOOL: The Srisaila Devastanam in Nandyal district is being decked out in preparation for the upcoming Dasara festivities, set to be celebrated from Oct. 3 to 12. The 10-day celebrations will commence with special rituals, including Utsava Sankalpam and Ganapathi Puja at the temple's Yagashala.
Temple Executive Officer D. Peddiraju has directed arrangements for queue lines, annadanam, water supply, ghat road electrification, cloakrooms, chappal stands, toilets, and temporary dressing rooms to ensure the convenience of devotees during the festivities. Officials are also planning parking areas around the temple. The Mahotsavam will conclude with the Chandi Yagam, Purnahuti, and Shamipuja.
Anticipating a large influx of pilgrims this year, temple authorities are making elaborate arrangements to avoid any issues. They are also setting up lights at the bathing ghats and showers for the holy bath at Pathalaganga, along with barricades for special queue lines within the main temple premises.
Additionally, a Santhi Homam was organised on Thursday at Bhramaramba Ammavari Yaga Shala, where the temple EO Peddiraju and his spouse participated. They performed various rituals, including Ganapathi Puja, Punyahavachanam, Mandaparadhana, Pawamana Homam, Kushmandahomam, Rakshoghnasukta Homam, and Purnahuti. The Parayanam of the Gangavatarana episode from the Bhagavatam was also conducted.
