Tirupati: The joint collector of Chittoor district P. Srinivasulu has issued orders suspending deputy surveyor S. Saddam Hussain of Santhipuram mandal following allegations of corruption. The issue came to light on June 27 when a farmer filed a complaint against the deputy surveyor, accusing him of demanding `1 lakh to complete survey work. Upon receiving the complaint, the joint collector sought a written explanation from the accused official. After reviewing the response, an investigation into the matter was ordered.

The decision to suspend the deputy surveyor was based on recommendations from the Survey and Land Records department, in accordance with the AP Civil Services Act 8 and GO MS 102 Revenue (SS2). The suspension order requires the Deputy Surveyor to cooperate with the investigation and remain within Santhipuram mandal headquarters during the inquiry period. Additionally, JC Srinivasulu has instructed the mandal surveyor and village surveyors working in the local secretariats to promptly resolve survey-related applications. Emphasising the importance of efficient service delivery, the orders aim to ensure that survey work is completed without causing inconvenience to the public.
