Vijayawada: Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan has profusely thanked the people for electing him as an MLA from Pithapuram and for giving a huge majority of 164 MLAs and 21 MPs to the TD-JS-BJP alliance in the recent elections.

Addressing a public meeting for the first time after getting elected as an MLA and assuming charge as DyCM, at Uppada Centre of Kakinada district on Wednesday, Pawan Kalyan said, “The election of all contestants - 21 MLAs and 2 MPs from Jana Sena with a strike rate of 100 per cent - has become a talk in the country. The landslide majority you gave to the TD-JS-BJP alliance has made the ministers and leaders of the NDA at the Centre to respect us. As the five crore people in the AP were fed up with an anarchic rule, they gave us a landslide majority.”

He said, “As AP’s finances are in a bad condition, we can use the administrative experience of Chandrababu Naidu and our good relations with the Centre to get financial support from Delhi to tide over the crisis.”

“We assure you that the three-party alliance will work together to address various issues and develop the state,” he said.

The Dy CM said, “I never used to care much about money as it would come anyway. After I became Dy CM, I am taking more care about the tax payers’ money. I am not keen on taking the Assembly allowance for its members. But I wonder how `600 crore was wasted by the previous government in Rushikonda. If a part of this money was given, it would have helped fill potholes and lay roads in Pithapuram.”

The Dy CM asserted, “When I meet the Prime Minister next time, I will ask him to sanction a flyover at Kotagummam Junction. The vehicular traffic is getting jammed due to the railway crossing. I will develop the Pithapuram Assembly segment as a role model for the country.”

Pawan Kalyan said he inspected the coastline erosion at Uppada beach along with officials and vowed to address the issue. He would develop the Uppada-Kakinada coastline spread over 11-13 km as a tourism hub.

He advised the people not to practise the politics of vengeance against the YSRC leaders and cadre and not to post anything unsavoury even in social media platforms.

The Deputy CM also asked the people not to bring a bad name to him by claiming that they belonged to the Pitapuram MLA, especially with the police and RTA officials after committing mistakes.

As the people started raising slogans of ‘OG’, the Dy CM and actor Pawan Kalyan responded by saying that he might not find time to act in the film immediately. He asked the producers to give him three months to focus more on the administration so that he could act in the film whenever he would find some time.
