VIJAYAWADA: Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha has said it is important to cut long delays and ensure justice for all through fast, effective and efficient judicial processes.
The state government would prioritize the requirements for the police, prisons and the judiciary to function effectively and this should help resolving the long-pending cases, she said.
The home minister was addressing a review meeting for the home department at the state Secretariat on Friday. Law minister NMD Farook explained the performance, cases and progress of Fast Track and Special courts. The two ministers stressed the need to strengthen the judicial system and make the special courts for women, POCSO courts and the Anti-Corruption Bureau perform better.
Anitha said the government would take steps to fill the vacancies in the police, jail and judicial systems. “We would provide justice for those who had been suffering from cases or harassment while under the previous government’s term,” she said.
In a separate programme, Anitha conducted a review meeting with Disaster Management MD, K Kurmanath. With moderate to heavy rains expected in the north Andhra region on Saturday, district officials were alerted to remain vigilant.
As there was also a possibility of thunderstorms in Rayalaseema, the disaster management department has been directed to send timely warnings to the public.
