Ex-mines director moves Andhra Pradesh HC over suspension order

Vijayawada: Former mines director V.G. Venkata Reddy has moved the Andhra Pradesh High Court seeking quashing of the suspension order issued to him by the state government.
A single judge bench headed by Justice Sathi Subba Reddy heard the petition on Wednesday. The judge directed the state government to place all details pertaining to Venkata Reddy’s suspension before it.
Justice Subba Reddy posted the next hearing to October 14.
Venkata Reddy’s counsel argued that his client’s deputation ended on July 31 and he reported to work at Indian Coast Guards on August 1. The counsel contended that the state government has no authority to suspend Venkata Reddy or initiate disciplinary proceedings against him.
