Expedite Machilipatnam Port Construction Works, says Krishna District Collector

Vijayawada: Krishna district collector D.K. Balaji has directed the officials concerned to expedite the Machilipatnam port construction works and resolve land acquisition issues to develop road and rail connectivity to the port.

On Friday, Balaji chaired a meeting with the port and revenue officials and reviewed the construction work of the port and land acquisition issues.

Addressing the meeting, the collector has enquired with the officials on the progress of the port works and directed them to expedite the works. On the occasion, the collector has discussed the steps that needed to be taken to resolve the land acquisition issue for developing road and rail connectivity to the port. The collector advised the revenue department officials to issue a preliminary notification for land acquisition to avoid legal problems.

Joint-collector Geetanjali Sharma, RDO M. Vani, Maritime Board special deputy collector Venkatrao and others were present.
