Vijayawada: Experts are working to salvage one of two boats stranded in the Krishna River at the Prakasam Barrage. On Wednesday, they focused on a boat that had collided with the pier of the Prakasam Barrage, causing damage to the counterweight. Efforts to pull it with ropes connected to two large boats, which were joined together with a girder, were unsuccessful as the boat capsized due to a hole that developed after the collision.

The team is now attempting to manoeuvre the boat, which has settled on the riverbed, to the surface. The goal is to tow it towards Punnami Ghat for secure anchoring. This salvage operation is expected to continue on Thursday. On Tuesday, experts successfully managed to pull one of the three stranded boats to Punnami Ghat.
