Kurnool: YSR Congress leader and former Kodumur MLA, Dr Jaradoddi Sudhakar, was arrested by the police on Thursday in connection with a case registered under the POCSO Act. The charges pertain to allegations of misbehaving with a servant maid at his residence. Following his arrest, a medical examination was conducted, and will be produced in court.

Sudhakar had previously been accused of sexually assaulting a girl who worked in his house. A video alleging sexual harassment went viral before the AP elections in May, but no case was registered against him by the previous government. Recently, with the change of government, a case was registered against him under the POCSO Act.

In fact, in the 2019 elections, Sudhakar contested from the Kodumur constituency in Kurnool district and won. However, due to the allegations against him, YSR Congress president and former CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy did not give him a ticket for the 2024 elections. Instead, Dr Adimulapu Satish, brother of former minister Adimulapu Suresh, was allotted the ticket in Sudhakar's place, but he lost the election.
