Girls U-19 Volleyball Tournament to begin today

Vijayawada: All arrangements have been made for the 68th National School Games Volleyball Tournament for Under-19 Girls scheduled to be held from January 6 to January 10 at Siddhartha Junior College of Arts and Science in the city, said AP School Games Secretary and General Observer G Bhanumurthi Raju on Sunday.
Addressing the media persons at the Siddhartha Junior College here on Sunday, Bhanumurthi Raju said a total of 26 teams across the country and arrangements have been made to accommodate the participating teams in six three-star hotels in the city. Coming to the good arrangements, a wide variety of South Indian and North Indian cuisines will be served to the players, catering to the diverse culinary preferences of participants.
Bhanumurthi Raju said that the matches will be held across six national-level volleyball courts, including four courts with floodlight facilities for evening games, with the tournament competitions set to follow a league-cum-knockout format offering teams ample opportunities to compete and excel. He further said 17 dedicated organising committees have been formed to ensure the seamless execution of the tournament.
