GVMC Discusses 2025-26 Budget in Crucial Standing Committee Meeting

Visakhapatnam: The Greater Maha Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) held a crucial meeting with standing committee members to discuss the budget for the fiscal year 2025-26. The meeting, led by Standing Committee Chairperson Golagani Hari Venkata Kumari, took place at the GVMC headquarters.

During the session, officials explained each budget item in detail. Committee members raised concerns over the allocation of funds and urged officials to increase budgetary provisions for development initiatives. They called for funds dedicated to the development of the GVMC constituency and the inclusion of various projects proposed under the Janmabhoomi-2 initiative.

The committee also emphasised the lack of allocations for the Scheduled Castes (SC) sub-plan funds during the previous administration, insisting these funds be included in the current budget.

The meeting saw the participation of GVMC additional commissioner SS Verma, chief engineer Shiva Prasad, examiner of accounts Vasudeva Reddy, assistant examiner Adinarayana, D.D.H. Damodar Rao, secretary B.V. Ramana, supervising engineers K.V.N. Ravi, Rammohan, Sampath Kumar, Govinda Rao, Samson Raju, chartered accountant Satyanarayana, sports director Raju, executive engineers, town planning officers, and others.
