Homeless individuals to receive permanent housing in five years Parthasarathy

Vijayawada:Minister for housing Kolusu Parthasarathy, announced that Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has set an ambitious goal: to ensure that no poor individual in the state is without a home within the next five years. The announcement was made during the inauguration of the Minister's updated office in the Fourth Block of the state secretariat in Velagapudi, Amaravati, on Friday.

Minister Parthasarathy expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Naidu, Minister for Education, IT and Electronics Nara Lokesh, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the opportunity to serve as a minister. He emphasized the government's commitment to transparent governance and providing quality housing for the impoverished. The Minister criticized the previous government's tenure for numerous irregularities in the housing department, highlighting the misuse of nearly ₹4,500 crores allocated for housing projects, which he stated resulted in injustices to the poor.

He noted that during Naidu's previous administration, loan assistance for housing units was ₹2.5 lakhs, but the previous government reduced this amount to ₹1.80 lakhs and withdrew additional financial aid for Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST).

Additionally, Parthasarathy mentioned a recent review meeting led by Chief Minister Naidu, aimed at developing proposals to assist journalists by providing housing plots and other forms of support. He criticized the previous government for its mismanagement, which led to the state incurring a debt of ₹10.50 lakh crore and struggling to pay government salaries. He emphasized the need to correct past mistakes and set a progressive path for the state's development, including goals to improve GDP and per capita income by 2029.

The Minister also announced an increase in social security pensions to ₹4,000, along with three months of arrears, totaling ₹7,000, and noted the successful distribution of pensions to 6.5 million people in a single day.
