Increment Denied to 158 Kadapa Election Staff
Anantapur: Kadapa collector and district election officer V. Vijaya Ramaraju on Saturday ordered that two increments for 185 polling staff be cut, as they had neglected their duties on the polling day in Kadapa district.
As part of the 2024 general elections, election staff of several departments had been posted to different assembly segments in the district. However, it came to the collector’s notice that the polling process had been delayed in several polling stations.
Inquiries revealed that the delay had been due to 185 polling staff not reporting on time at their polling stations. The district collector has warned that counting staff appointed will face similar action if they are found negligent in performing their duties at the counting centres.
