TIRUPATI: Jana Sena has levelled serious allegations of corruption and malpractices against the various mutts in Tirumala, claiming they are exploiting devotees in collusion with YSRC leaders and certain employees of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, Kiran Rayal, Jana Sena's Tirupati in-charge, alleged that 32 religious institutions, including the Sarada Peetham are involved in this racked that flourished under the YSRC government, particularly during the tenure of TTD additional executive officer A.V. Dharma Reddy.
Terming it the "Dongala Mutha Scam", he said those running these mutts exploited devotees and siphoning off substantial funds from them whenever TTD guest houses had been full.
“What should have been a spiritual journey has been turned into a profitable venture by YSRC leaders, who operate these mutts in Tirumala,” the JS leader stated.
He pointed out that there had been only four mutts on the hill in 2004. Now, there are 32 mutts. Rayal vowed to liberate these religious institutions from YSRC leaders. “We are committed to ensuring affordable accommodation for pilgrims,” he stated.
The Jana Sena leader said a delegation of their party will meet with the new TTD executive officer and superintendent of police and expose both the current corruption and past scams.
