Karnataka draws inspiration out AP education reforms
Vijayawada:Taking inspiration from the education reforms in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka’s Educational Research and Training (DSERT) institute and some other entities have jointly launched a Kannada-English bilingual dictionary book for students of government schools.
The launch was held in Bengaluru on Wednesday. The others involved in the initiative are Bala Raksha Bharath and Save The Children, under the aegis of Karnataka Samagra Shiksha and the School Education Department.
AP Samagra Shiksha state project director, B Srinivasa Rao, virtually participated in the dictionary inauguration event. DSERT director Gopala Krishna launched the bilingual dictionary.
Addressing the event, Srinivasa Rao shared his experiences in preparing Telugu-English bilingual dictionaries and school textbooks for students in AP schools.
He said the AP education department has focused its attention on improving foundational learning and numeracy, as well as enhancing students' learning capacities through learning improvement programmes and STEM-based educational initiatives.
