Leopard sightings spark fear in Srisailam

Officials have advised people to be cautious, especially during nighttime, and to avoid venturing into areas known to be frequented by wildlife.

Kurnool: A wave of fear has gripped the residents of Srisailam after multiple sightings of leopards in the town. The latest incident occurred on Saturday night when a leopard entered a house near Swami Purnananda Ashram in Sunnipenta and snatched a pet cat.

Just a day earlier, another leopard was spotted prowling the cart market area of Sunnipenta. Locals reported seeing the big cat leap from a house and disappear into the nearby forest.

These frequent sightings have raised concerns among residents, who are worried about their safety. The sudden increase in leopard activity in the suburbs has led to panic. Forest officials estimate that there are at least five leopards roaming within Srisailam mandal.To address the situation, local residents have alerted forest authorities about the leopard sightings.
