Lokesh's Praja Darbar completes 50 days of service
Vijayawada:Education minister Nara Lokesh's Praja Darbar, the event dedicated to addressing public grievances, has successfully completed 50 days on Friday.
Since its inception, Praja Darbar has received an impressive 5,810 petitions from the public. 4,400 of these issues have been successfully resolved. The initiative has thus become a beacon of hope for individuals seeking assistance.
The Praja Darbar platform has provided reassurance to citizens, affirming that Lokesh is there to support them through any hardship they may face.
After assuming office, the education minister launched the Praja Durbar initiative from his residence in Undavalli in Amaravati, focusing on engaging directly with the community.
Unlike the previous initiatives led by elected representatives, Lokesh’s Praja Darbar has achieved a remarkable 75 per cent success rate. Approximately, half of the issues raised pertain to the revenue and home departments, followed by concerns regarding human resources, health, panchayati raj and municipal administration.
Telugu Desam leaders cite several instances exemplifying the success of Praja Darbar initiative. They highlight the case of Murududlu Raju from Rajavaram in Eluru district. He approached minister Lokesh regarding encroachment of 1.04 acres of land assigned to him by the state government 36 years ago. Following his plea, the authorities acted promptly to reclaim the land for Raju.
Shiva Satyanarayana from Podilivaripalem in Bapatla district sought help to correct his daughter's name on her birth certificate after he unsuccessfully went around government offices for four months. Lokesh directed officials to amend the error and the authorities issued the corrected certificate immediately.
The education minister has personally intervened in emergencies, such as assisting a pregnant woman named Singapogu Sushanthi from Prakasam district, who had been critically injured in a severe road accident. He expedited financial assistance of ₹5 lakh through the CM Relief Fund to save her life.
Lokesh says he has established a dedicated operational framework to address the issues that come to him. The issues are referred to the relevant departments and followed up for redressal.
