VIJAYAWADA: State Housing Minister Jogi Ramesh has asked Telugu Desam leaders to explain the whereabouts of party chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu, currently on a post-poll foreign visit.

“Why is TD hiding Naidu's tour details,” he asked, and said there were a lot of suspicions over the “sudden disappearance” of Naidu. “He went abroad without even telling the pro-TD media where he was headed. The big question now is, to which country did he flee.”

Addressing the media on Tuesday, Ramesh alleged that Naidu went to Dubai to hide his ill-gotten money. “TD leaders are clueless about Naidu’s present whereabouts.”

He said, “Our leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had openly told us where he was going. Where is Naidu? Is he in Dubai, Italy or America?”

Jogi Ramesh quoted TD NRI wing leader Komati Jayaram as saying “Naidu did not come to the US.”

He said Chandrababu has a history of “diverting illegal funds from abroad to shell companies in India. According to the latest information, it seems Chandrababu has landed in Italy.

The minister noted that Chandrababu went to Dubai from Hyderabad's Shamshabad airport along with his wife Bhuvaneswari. Where they went from there was not known. He recalled that TD initially claimed that Chandrababu had gone to the US for medical tests, which “seems totally false.”
